UAE, 12th March 2013: EUROSTAR Group, a leader in digital satellite receiving systems, has reinforced its market leadership status by showcasing its new concept of “Digital Convergence of Satellite, Media & Broadcast Technology“at CABSAT 2013. The theme covers the integration of Digital Satellite Systems, Cables/FTTH, Entertainment Media, Smart TV Media and Integration/Service Support. Providing a broad portfolio of technologically advanced products for the industry, EUROSTAR also launched the first ever Android based set top box (STB): ES 9900A Hybrid and SAT>IP at CABSAT.
For a unified communication experience, the ES 9900A merges computer and consumer electronics to offer you a thrilling experience. The audience will be able to access complete Android functionality such as Google, Play Store, Facebook, Twitter, Skype YouTube among others and Live TV via satellite. Content can be shared from the ES 9900A to other devices such as Android based Smart Phones and Tablets through direct Wi-Fi.
SAT>IP is a new IP-based architecture for receiving and distributing satellite signals and allows satellite programs to be distributed, like traditional IPTV, over any IP network. Once the SAT>IP software application is installed, satellite programs can be distributed like traditional IPTV over any IP network using wireless (WLAN, 4G), power line, wired ethernet, optical fibre, plastic fibre, coax, twisted pair (xDSL) or visible light technology. The special advantage offered by the SAT>IP is it allows satellite programs to be received on other modern IP capable devices such as Tablets, PCs,Laptops, Smartphones, Connected TV’s, Game Consoles and Media Players can all become satellite viewing clients.
