1. How has the market for smart devices grown in the UAE this year over last year? Please provide figures and statistics.
Smart device has shown a significant growth in the region; Eurostar has seen a quadrupling of demand for our range of smart devices, especially on the Designer Tablets range. The outlook remains strong with consumer confidence and resulting spends on the rise. This has resulted in demand for smart devices increasing especially with brands introducing more affordable and accessible ranges for the consumers.

2. What are the opportunities ahead?
The market shows a clear trend in content consumption through smart devices. Technology has enabled consumers to access as well as share content when they want, where they want and whenever. Smart devices now enable them also to consume and share however they want making it limitless.
If your device cannot be utilized to its maximum potential in synergy with other devices, it will find itself becoming increasingly isolated from consumer interest.

3. What are the factors contributing to the growth of the market in the UAE?
– The visionary leadership of the nation has provided support for business to take place while catalyzing trade with events such as GITEX and Dubai Shopping Festival.
– UAE is a regional HQ of all major brands due to its stability and re-exports facilities making it a gateway to the Middle East and African markets.
– UAE residents as well as the massive influx of tourists throughout the year have access to and demand the latest technology while possessing a high spending power.

4. What is Eurostar’s market share? Who has the biggest market share in the region?

Global brand names are mainly focusing on the very high end segment of the market. While Eurostar targets the mass market, providing value for money and high quality products. A key aspect of Eurostar is to understand the niche market requirements and developing Thematic Devices; this has become an important aspect as consumers see devices as an extension of their personality.

5. How do you think Smart Televisions will take off?

Smart TV is an integral part of the chain of media & content consumption, which also provide access to web content and manufacturers portals. However their role will be focusing in providing access to content that will be shown and displayed in the living room. Eurostar has launched the smart TV upgrader which will enable users to convert traditional LED/LDCs into a smart device and an entertainment hub.

To complete the connected experience, users will enjoy their individual content on Tablets. So personal content such as social media, chats etc will be consumed more frequently on personalized devices such as Tablets
